MIDORI HIRANO with KALIBER16 (Jpn / Ger)
Japanese musician, composer and producer Midori Hirano lives and works in Berlin for ten years. Her creation is based on the use of acoustic instruments such as piano, string or guitar, which are experimentally and eclectically intertwined with modern digital sounds, subtle electronics and field recordings. The research is evading conventional frames of classical, ambient and electronic music. It composes music for film, video installations and dance performances. In the spring, EP Mirrors In Mirrors released for the Australian Daisart label, which will be followed by a new album for Sonic Pieces this year. She works with the YTAMO’s compatriot, and is also active in the electro-experimental project MimiCof, accompanied by live video by Markus Wambsganss from the German video tale Kaliber16, known for collaborating with the Anti-Pop Consortium, T.Raumschmiere, Liars, Jamie Lidell, The Notwist, Funkstörung. At Sajeta, she will present her new chapter premieres, this time for the piano performance of Midori Hirano.
